Wellness Company for Gamers Launches First Line of Products

Much like consumers in the sports nutrition category, people who play video games competitively represent a huge base of consumers engaged in an activity which can affect their health and wellness, and which calls for peak performance in competition which could last for hours on end.

Recently, a company called Skinz.gg, which reports to be the first health and wellness company specifically for gamers, launched its first line of products formulated for a population of gamers it estimates to be over 2.6 billion worldwide. The company reports that key areas affecting gamer performance include energy, focus, pain and sleep.

Competitive gamers in recent years have been a sought-after customer base by dietary supplement companies, for obvious reasons. A rising tide of clinical trials supporting certain ingredients evidenced to preserve eye health, nootropics which promise improved cognitive performance in a number of domains are clearly appealing to those seeking to preserve their health after lengthy sessions in front of a TV screen or computer monitor. While gaming is a sedentary activity in and of itself, many serious gamers must keep health in mind during off hours to make up for what is an exercise-free activity.

“Stereotypes persist that video gamers don’t care about their health and wellness, and that they just sit around eating junk food and drinking soda and energy drinks. This could not be further from the truth,” Gary Kleinman, co-founder and President of Skinz.gg, said. “Nearly 200 Universities offer around $15 million per year for video gaming scholarships, and there is serious competition for these funds. This is one of many factors driving gamers’ increased interest in health and wellness. Just like athletes in other sports, video gamers are very aware of the impact of proper health and wellness on their performance. They’re seeking out ways to address the physical, mental, and emotional challenges that come with high-level gaming.”

The company reports that it is well-equipped to devote its resources entirely to gamers at large. Its products are supported by clinical research, and the company will provide its consumers with guidance on best practices for supplementation and injury prevention, and information on the effect that gaming can have on one’s body.

“Skinz.gg is the only company which creates products that are purposely formulated to promote video gamers’ health and wellness that powers their performance,” Natalia Sokolova, co-founder and CEO of Skinz.gg said. “Our company uniquely sits at the intersection of dietary supplements and videogaming, which collectively accounts for a half trillion dollars or more in global spending annually. Skinz.gg impacts the entire video gamer market; our products and services are used by every time of video game player, professional to casual, and across every type of gaming genre and device.”

“I’m a gamer, so I have first-hand knowledge of how it impacts my body,” Dr. Corey J. Csakai, the company’s chief medical officer, said. “I’m thrilled to be part of the Skinz.gg team that is working to develop products and best practices that both prevent and treat injuries specific to video gaming. These include everything from how certain products interact with the body, to how hand movements and sitting improperly can lead to health issues while playing.”

The company has an initial line of products that include formulations targeting energy, pain management, antioxidant immune support, and sleep.

EnerigiZ is a dietary supplement containing several active ingredients, including dietary fiber, magnesium, sodium, creatine, L-carnitine, caffeine, and the amino acids N-acetyl-L-tyrosine, ATP, and L-theanine.

DoZ, a sleep formulation, contains an herbal blend of valerian, passionflower, lemon balm, chamomile, GABA, L-Theanine, 5-HTP, melatonin, and vitamin B6.

DefenZ, an immune support formula, contains a whopping 2,569 mg of vitamin C, quercetin, hesperidin, and rutin.

Lastly, the company introduced a topical CBD balm called Got Pain?, which is formulated for pain management and contains 1,000 mg of CBD per bottle.

Additionally, the company plans to create a virtual lifestyle platform, centered around those seeking jobs in the video gaming space, a dating platform for gamers, and an events portal where gamers can purchase tickets and VIP access to sponsored gaming events, with more details to be announced.
