Watermelon seed butter

During past IFT, llinois-headquartered Dastony was exhibiting its range of nut and seed butters at the organic pavilion. It claims to be the first manufacturer of raw watermelon seed butter.

The watermelon seeds are stone-ground and the butter has a sweet, earthy taste that sits somewhere between cashew nut butter and sesame tahini.

The company says watermelon seeds are a good source of magnesium, iron, zinc, B vitamins, amino acids and healthy fats as well as the antioxidant lycopene.

Its range of butters include almond, cashew, pine nut, pumpkin seed, hemp, coconut and Brazil nut as well as sprouted nut butters.

In addition to its consumer-facing brand, the company sells B2B quantities of one and five gallons.
